Short CV:
 Vassilios Iakovakis graduated in 1985 from the Mechanical Engineering Department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He got a scholarship by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and studied in the Institute of Automotive Engineering of the TU Braunschweig also. From 1988 up to 1994 was Academic Employee of IfF. He assisted the lectures of Prof. Dr.-Ing. H.-J. Beermann “Tragwerke und Aufbauten I” and “Tragwerke and Aufbauten II”. The main area of his research was vehicle chassis joints, where stresses and deformation were experimentally investigated and with Finite Element Analysis verified. He holds since 1992 a Dr.-Ing. Degree from the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of TU Braunschweig.

In Greece and in cooperation with various companies he designed a lot of machines and wastewater treatment plants. He was appointed in 1998 Assistant Professor and in 2012 Associate Professor of Machine Elements at Mechanical Engineering Department, TEI of Larissa. He teaches “Machine Elements I”, “Machine Elements II” and Computer Aided Design. He took place in many research activities and restructuring projects of the department. He has served as Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department and as Head of the Technical Department of the TEI of Larissa.

He has published scientific articles and he is reviewer in respected journals.
